From dump trading to a specialist in mobile cranes
The origins of this family business date back to 1968, with the establishment of a surplus trading company in Harderwijk, specializing in American surplus goods and vehicles, including REO recovery trucks with Austin Western superstructures. In 1974, the company relocated to Nunspeet and was named Homar B.V. During this period, an important transition took place: the focus shifted from surplus goods to the trading of passenger cars, trucks, earthmoving equipment, and mobile cranes. From the 1980s onwards, the family business increasingly specialized in mobile cranes—a direction that remains at the core of its activities to this day. In that same period, the next generation joined the company, with each family member contributing their own expertise. This generational transition marked the beginning of a tradition in which the business was passed from father to son. In 1992, Homar B.V. moved to the Lepelingen industrial estate, where a warehouse was built for storage and logistics activities. This location remains the beating heart of the company. Looking to the future, Homar B.V. continues to build on a foundation of shared expertise, dedication, and family pride—values that have guided the company for generations.
